Therese Kurkowksi Dennis is of counsel to Wagener Law and has worked at the firm since 2011. She has been practicing labor and employment law since 2001. She has conducted and supervised numerous workplace investigations in a wide variety of subject areas, and she has extensive experience counseling on and litigating employment law issues. Her current practice focuses on conducting independent workplace investigations.
From 2006 to 2008, Ms. Dennis was an in-house employment attorney at Amgen, a global biotechnology company, providing advice and counsel on all areas of employment law. At Amgen, Ms. Dennis directed investigations regarding compliance and HR issues, including those involving coordination with cross-functional teams of subject matter experts. She also managed litigation throughout the U.S. and Puerto Rico and helped to develop and implement HR and compliance policies, including Amgen’s first flexible work program.
From 2001 to 2006, Ms. Dennis was an associate in the Employment Law department of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, a premier law firm that U.S. News and World Report has ranked “Tier 1” out of the nation’s best employment practices. At Gibson Dunn, Ms. Dennis defended companies against employment law claims before federal and state courts, administrative agencies, and private arbitrators.
Ms. Dennis earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Minnesota Law School in 2001, where she graduated magna cum laude and served as an editor of the Minnesota Law Review.
Ms. Dennis earned her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1997, With Distinction, in Sociology and Political Science.
Ms. Dennis is admitted to practice law in California and Pennsylvania.
